On Failure

On the dictionary's definition of failure, why a single attempt can't be one, and what happens when you stop measuring success at the finish line.

I started writing this blog, searched for the definition of failure, and found it means “ lack of success“.

When I was in college, after the end of my 2nd I was on an acceptance or success streak; I was getting accepted where ever I was applying as I used to prepare well before applying. However, the line ended at the end of my 3rd year (6th semester). After that, I faced rejection despite the same effort as before. At that time, all my friends were getting placed in various companies, and I wanted to do something different however the rejection’s made me feel like a failure (peer pressure). For some time, I went underground, and my stress increased as time passed by. Finally, one day I decided that let’s start again. My close friends were supportive and constantly reminded me that I was not an imposter. And eventually, I got an offer letter which I never accepted. However, it boosted my morale, and I did what I wanted.

From that time, I learnt that people appreciate the results and overlook the efforts, and if you do something for social validation, after failing, you will Make a mountain out of a molehill with respect to what will people think about you.

I learnt Failing is not a bad thing whenever I fail, I retrospected, I tried to know what went wrong, and I come again stronger and wiser.

People usually say to keep focusing on your goal until you succeed, but no one tells us what to do if we fail. AS Sometimes, a few things are not under our control, and we must accept that we can’t do anything. And get the failure with humbleness.

Earlier, I used to think one could get an idea of success by listening to successful people; however, one day, I read a book which taught me that people who were similar in their capabilities could also show the path to success.

There was a time when I sometimes used to be cautious while doing new things in an open environment, as I feared failure and humiliation by people around me. Then, one day, a close friend of mine noticed this habit and nicely made me understand that whatever can go wrong will go wrong. And if I fail, I will learn and grow. After that i never looked back.

On an ending note, i to sum up I am not afraid to take risks and fail. though whenever I fail it takes some time to get back and start again.
